MULTIDEC®-Cut

You can use the grooving/turning tool systems of our multidec®-CUT product line primarily for external turning and internal turning.

All indexable inserts are easily replaceable and are characterised by a very high repeatability. For the machining of all common materials, inserts are available in ideally matched carbide grades of coated and uncoated ultra-fine grain substrates. We produce five systems, which are subdivided in terms of their groove depths and widths as well as their application in machining technology.

multidec®-CUT 500

The grooving/turning tool system 500 is ideal for sliding headstock automatic lathes with bar capacity up to a maximum of Ø16 mm. The neutral inserts, which are only offered as blanks, have a cutting edge that is screwed onto the holders with a repeat accuracy of <0.01 mm. A wide range of ground holders with hardened and nickel-plated surfaces, especially for sliding headstock automatic lathes with shank cross-sections of 6 to 10 mm, rounds off multidec®-CUT 500.

Advantages:

  • Replacement for the brazed carbide turning steels of the cam-controlled sliding headstock automatic lathes

  • Neutral blanks with polished rake face

  • Blanks available coated and uncoated

  • Users can grind their individual cutting geometries themselves

multidec®-CUT 1600

The grooving/turning tool system 1600 is ideal for sliding headstock automatic lathes with bar capacity up to a maximum of Ø10 mm. The inserts have two cutting edges. A wide range of high-quality holders, especially for sliding headstock automatic lathes with shank cross-sections from 7 to 25 mm, rounds off multidec®-CUT 1600.

Advantages:

  • Large selection of cutting geometries with special chip grooves for machining very small parts

  • Standard threaded plates with solid profile from M 0.2 (pitch 0.06 mm)

  • Grooving plates with standard widths from 0.05 mm

Holder «IC» with integrated coolant supply

Machining modern materials economically increasingly requires precise guidance of the coolant to the cutting edge, which is often difficult in the sliding headstock machine rooms. The multidec®-IC range offers a large selection of holders with integrated coolant supply. Due to the high precision of the impact and the large pressure, the chip can be quickly and safely guided away from the cutting edge and the workpiece. This means a markedly longer tool life, coupled with high process reliability in series production.

Advantages:

  • All holders have five connection options for coolant supply

  • Fixed outlet of the cooling medium; therefore only little build-up at the front of the holder

  • Whether with or without high pressure, the cooling medium always hits the cutting edge precisely

Holder «TWIN» with and without integrated coolant supply

The «TWIN» programme allows working with two inserts on the same holder. Various combinations are available and offer the user a high degree of flexibility. Holders are available with shank cross-sections from 8 to 20 mm, each with and without internal cooling.

Advantages:

  • Doubling the number of tools on the machine

  • Two different turning operations are possible with a single tool holder

  • All holders with integrated coolant supply have five connection options

Holder «Y-AXIS» with and without integrated coolant supply

Y-AXIS holders solve the chip control problems that can occur when turning long-chipping materials. With the Y-AXIS holder, the cutting edge is offset by 90° compared to the standard holder, which causes the chip to fall onto the bed of the machine. This avoids annoying tangled and flowing chips that could stick to the cutting edge and damage it.

Advantages:

  • Suitable for long-chipping materials

  • The problem of chip control is solved

  • Holder with internal cooling

  • All holders have five connection options for coolant supply

multidec®-CUT 1700

The grooving/turning tool system 1700 is an optimal addition to the existing system 1600. Thanks to the angled insert, it is easy to get past protruding contours that would otherwise lead to a collision. The inserts have two cutting edges. A wide range of high-quality holders, especially for sliding headstock automatic lathes with shank cross-sections from 8 to 20 mm, rounds off multidec®-CUT 1700.

Advantages:

  • Release of the holder due to a slanted installation of the indexable insert

  • Grooving plates from 0.05 mm width

  • Thread cutting programme «WCT» for turning threads according to standard NIHS 60-30 in watch shells

multidec®-CUT 3000

A grooving/turning tool for sliding headstock automatic lathes with a maximum bar capacity of Ø32 mm. The inserts have two cutting edges. The protected insert seat allows 100% use of the cutting edges. A wide range of high-quality holders, especially for sliding headstock automatic lathes with shank cross-sections from 8 to 25 mm, rounds off multidec®-CUT 3000.

Advantages:

  • Large selection of cutting geometries with special chip grooves for machining small to medium-sized parts

  • Exact positioning through 2 screws with stop for axial alignment

  • Large support surface guarantees vertical alignment

  • Cutting forces are transmitted directly from the insert to the holder

  • Second, intact cutting edge can also be used after rupture of the first, without problems.

Holder «AK» with integrated coolant supply for machines with turret

The AK holder is ideally suited for using the inserts of the multidec®-CUT 3000 system on lathes with turrets. There are two fixed coolant outlets in the offset head part. At the front on the outside is a coolant connection with G1/8" thread. Three further M5 connections are located at the top, bottom and side of the holder, which can be used for direct transfer of the coolant if the turret is designed accordingly.

Advantages:

  • Use of multidec®-CUT 3000 cutters on turret machines

  • Several connection and transfer options for the integrated cooling system

  • With or without high pressure, the coolant always hits the cutting edge precisely

multidec®-CUT 3600

A grooving/turning tool for sliding headstock automatic lathes with a maximum bar capacity of Ø20 mm. The inserts have two cutting edges. The protected insert seat allows 100% use of the cutting edges. A wide range of high-quality holders, especially for sliding headstock automatic lathes with shank cross-sections from 8 to 25 mm, rounds off multidec®-CUT 3600.

Advantages:

  • Suitable for piercing wide shapes up to 6 mm

  • Users can grind their individual cutting geometries themselves
